Lida Nadery Hedayat

Lida Nadery Hedayat is an international development professional and women’s rights advocate. She currently serves as Associate Director at Counterpart International and previously led the USAID-funded Women’s Leadership Development Program, the largest initiative of its kind in Afghanistan, which supported more than 30,000 young women.

Lida holds a master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University. She serves on the boards of several organizations, including the Afghan American Chamber of Commerce and the Afghan Women’s Network, and is a co-founder of Modern Education Development (MoDE). In 2021, she received the Vermont World Council’s Person of the Year award for her contributions to women’s rights and peacebuilding.
